Robert "Bob" McCleaster, age 83, of North Canton passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He was born in Canton on November 19, 1940, to Joseph W. and Janet (Burkhart) McCleaster and is a graduate of North Canton Hoover High School. Bob received his bachelor's and master's degree in music education from DePauw University and spent 37 years as a music educator, starting with 6 years in Scio, OH and the last 31 years of his career as the Band Director at North Canton Hoover High School. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, was a commercially rated pilot and certified flight instructor, member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, East Central Ohio Pilots Association, and a past Commodore of the South Shore Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughter, Alexa McCleaster (Alanna); son Robert James "Jamie" (Katie) McCleaster; brother John McCleaster; grandchildren, Hailey, and Jack McCleaster. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, James "Jim" McCleaster.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024, 4-7:00 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 415 S. Main St., North Canton. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday 11:00 am in the church with Pastor Eli Klingensmith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Zion United Church of Christ.
