Robert (Bob) Lee Bayer, Age 89, of Canton, passed away on August 1, 2011 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on October 14, 1921 in Canton to Fredrick and Anna Bayer. He retired from the Timken Company after 33 years of service as a precision toolmaker. He attended McKinley High School and was a medic in the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Gregory. He is survived by his wife, Carmella (Honey) Bayer. They had shared 65 years together. He is also survived by three children, daughter and son-in-law, Paula and George Fuciu of Tucson, Arizona, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Pam of North Canton, son and son-in-law, Jeff Bayer and Don Baldini of New York City. Grandchildren Pamela (and Brent) Thompson and Greg (and Kristen) Fuciu of Kansas City, Missouri, Brittany Bayer of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Drew Bayer of Greentown. Great Grandchildren; Taylor and Trevor Thompson and Nickolas and Michael Fuciu of Kansas City. He will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, trimming trees, building "things" in his workshop, playing euchre and watching the Cleveland Indians. There will always be fond memories of boating with his cousin Bob Miller down the Ohio River. He loved staying up late and getting up early. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd. Independence, OH 44131.
