Robert "Bob" Latz, age 91, was born September 1, 1924 to the late Rabbi Charles and Sylvia Latz of Canton of Canton, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1942, then served in the Army during WWII with the heavy artillery earning four bronze stars. Bob lived in Chicago, Illinois and Racine, Wisconsin. For 42 years he was president of a retail jewelry chain in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, and was a director of an automobile agency in Racine, Wisconsin for 11 years. Bob faithfully supported numerous college students, in particular Asian exchange students. He was also an avid car collector. Bob served as a hospital volunteer for eleven years in both Wisconsin and Canton. He was a member of the American Legion, Temple Israel and WW II Battle of the Bulge organization. Relatives include cousins in Champaign, Illinois and Cincinnati and numerous close friends in Racine, Wisconsin and Canton, both young and old. Many considered him "family". Bob will be most remembered for his wit, sarcastic humor, feisty bicycle riding and generosity. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 AM in Temple Israel with Rabbi John Spitzer officiating.
