Robert E. Hiles Navarre - Robert (Bob) E. Hiles, age 76, of Navarre, Ohio, passed away on June 6, 2023, leaving his beloved wife Linda J. (Hedden) Hiles and a large, loving family behind. Bob was born on May 29, 1947, in Lorain, Ohio. Bob was a proud Army veteran, serving for 10 years, 2 months, and 18 days in the First Calvary Division. He served in both Korea and Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, Bob hit the open road as a truck driver traveling across the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwestern parts of the U.S. When he wasn't hauling cargo, Bob was a gun enthusiast and target shooter. He also loved hitting the road on his motorcycle, reading books, and rooting for his favorite NASCAR drivers. Bob was a family man through and through, and so very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Due to his failing health, he maintained many of his social connections online. He is survived by his wife Linda; daughters, Julie (Rich) Esmiol and Kimberly (David) Lawrason; son, Ron (Margarita) Hiles; step-son, Ray (Angela) Wells; sister, Tracy Riley (Jim McKelvey); brother, Sean (Sheila) Riley; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Hiles and Aileen Riley, sister Sharyl (Hiles) Paquette, and granddaughter Jessica Wilcox. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date. Until then, his family and friends will remember him as a man who never complained, despite the many challenges he faced. Bob was a true original, and his wit, charm, and love will be sorely missed.
