Robert Scott Green passed away on March 17, 2026, in Canton, OH.
He leaves behind his wife Debra (McDonald) Green who was his joy and inspiration and their son Mark Green, his best friend. He is also survived by his sisters Karen Shewbridge Meyers and husband Richard of Flintstone, MD and Diane Garrison and husband Walt of Cranberry Township, PA, niece Teresa Garrison, and nephews EJ (Becky) Shewbridge III, Jim (Misha) Garrison and their children.
Born on December 19, 1952, to Charles Robert Green and Virginia (Kirk) Green Mullan he was raised in Barton, MD and baptized in the Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents and by his brother-in-law Jack Shewbridge.
A United States Air Force veteran where he was trained as an interpreter and received a Top-Secret security clearance. He was an Air Medal recipient, and he was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Operation Frequent Wind, the April 1975 evacuation of Saigon.
While attending college under the GI Bill he was employed as a hospital security guard. He graduated magna cum laude from Allegany College of Maryland and cum laude from Frostburg State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
His professional career was spent as a software developer working in Alexandria, VA, Cumberland, MD and Akron, OH. He retired as an IT Section Leader at the global headquarters of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed hiking with his wife and their Golden Retrievers, and loved to travel.
Along with his wife, he was a member of Golden Retrievers In Need (GRIN) rescue organization, the Stark Library Foundation and Friends of Stark Parks, He was also a sustaining member of the Akron-Canton Food Bank where he had frequently volunteered.

Friends will be received at the Arnold Funeral Home Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1-3PM. Inurnment will be in the East Nimischillen Cemetery at a later date.
