Robert Nelson Golightly, age 72, of Uniontown, went to the Lord unexpectedly on Monday night January 21, 2013. He was born May 15, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia, raised by his aunt Catherine and uncle Ken Campbell, and graduated from Charles Town High School in 1958. In September of 1958, Bob entered the Air Force. While he was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base, he met and married Marie Joan Abbott. Military assignments and career moves had the family living in Morocco and numerous states, finally settling in Ohio approximately 20 years ago. He retired from Diebold as a major account coordinator in 2001 after 35 years of service. He worked hard to provide and was a dedicated loving husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his wife Marie Joan Golightly on March 2, 2010; parents Arthur and Gladys (Shutts) Golightly; twin brothers Jerry and Gary Golightly; and brother Mike Golightly. He is survived by his children Dannette Golightly of MI, Robin Hickman of Hartville, Brian (Marie) Golightly of MI, Teresa Fisher of Uniontown; grandchildren Christina (Ryan) Hoy, David Golightly, Adam Golightly, Liane Golightly, Carrie Hickman, Danielle Golightly, Robert Fisher; great-grandchildren Logan Michael Hoy and Drake Dryden Daniel; siblings Richard Golightly of FL, Arthur "Steven" (Louise) Golightly of FL; mother-in-law Norabelle Abbott and in-laws Marion (Adrian) Gasseling, William James (Sandy) Abbott all of NE; and numerous loving relatives and friends. Calling hours are Sunday 3-6 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville and one half hour prior to services Monday 12-12:30 PM at New Baltimore Community Church. Funeral services are Monday 12:30 PM in the church with Pastor Ken Baker officiating. Final resting place is Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
