Robert M. Fawcett, age 79, of Canton died Wednesday morning in Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. A life resident of Canton, Mr. Fawcett was a Navy Veteran of WW II and retired in 1986 from the McNeil Corporation where he was a corporate pilot. He was also a flight instructor at McKinley Air Transport and had previously worked for the Timken Co. and Republic Steel. In addition to his parents: Norris and Rada (McCort) Fawcett he was preceded in death by his first wife: Joanne Fawcett on April 7, 2001 and his second wife Eleanor Fawcett May 9, 2005. He was also preceded by a sister: Helen Applegate. He is survived by four daughters: Charlotte Fawcett of Kentucky, Elaine (Bill) Gilbert of Florida, Martha (Harry) Sebald of N. Canton and Kathryn (Joe) Conner of Carroll County, OH. Two sons: William (Clare) Fawcett of Canton Twp., and James (Carol) Fawcett of Fremont, OH. 16 granchildren: Jonathan, Mary, Luke, Diane, Susanna, Christi, John, Aaron, James, (Christy), Chad, and Brittany Fawcett. Rachel (Mike) Weaver, Amy (Jason) Schlepp, Kimberly (Peter) Robinson, Billy Gilbert and David Sebald. Four step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and one to be arriving.
