Robert J. Cox, "Bob," age 68 of Hartville passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 2, 2025. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 13, 1956 to Robert J. and Dorothy (Carter) O'Neill. He attended Firestone Community Learning Center, graduated from of Mogadore High School and The University of Akron with a degree in Social Work. In 1978, Bob began a 33-year career with the Summit County Juvenile Court, where he served as a probation officer until his retirement in 2009.

Bob enjoyed all aspects of being outdoors, golfing, hunting, camping, fishing and spending time on the water in his boat. Some of his favorite memories were traveling to Florida in their motorhome and camping on the Suwannee River.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol (Coleman)Cox; siblings Patricia O. Cox, Joyce O'Neill, and Larry Cox; several nieces and nephews; many special lifelong friends; and his fur babies, Koda & Rosie.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no public services are planned at this time.
