Obituary

Robert W. Benjamin, age 82, of Hartville and formerly Ashtabula, passed away September 27, 2024, following a brief illness. He was born in Cleveland on May 27, 1942, to Lesley and Thelma (Sexton) Benjamin and graduated from Shaw High School. Following high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy, and then he began a career with Molded Fiberglass. Robert was active in local golf and bowling leagues. He was a life member of the American Legion Dewey Howlett Post 103 Honor Guard in Ashtabula as well as active in Army & Navy Union USA John Massey Garrison # 422 in Girard.

He is preceded in death by his wife Merry "Kathy" Benjamin and brother Kenneth Benjamin. Robert is survived by his longtime companion Joyce Carden; children Lisa (Patrick) Schupska, Lori (Michael) Testa, and Marjorie (Larry) Baker; grandchildren Kristen Schupska, Nathan Gray, Emily Testa, Stephanie Testa, Jacob Testa, Reilly Nicola, Brennan Nicola, Charles Nicola, Irelyn Carden, Isabella Carden, Alivia Carden, Michael Carden Jr., Myles Carden, and Karlynn Baker; brother Ray (Carlos) Benjamin; sister-in-law Nancy Benjamin; 4 nieces.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville at 504 West Maple Street from 10 – 11:30am. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:30 following calling hours.
