Robert J. Angione, age 80, formerly of Canton, recently of Massillon died Tuesday morning in Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Canton on January 4, 1926 to the late Michael J. and Catherine (Capes) Angione, Bob was a 1944 graduate of Middlebranch High School. He was a Navy Veteran having served during WW II and the Korean War. A retired employee of Diebold, Bob was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church; he had also been active with Scouting with Buckeye Council for 45 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post 436, Greentown and VFW Post 3124 and Sons of Herman of Massillon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Elizabeth "Betty" Angione in 2000, a daughter: Susan Daly and a brother Larry Angione. Survivors include two sons: Michael (Cathy) Angione of N. Canton and Patrick (Tammy) Angione of Canton. Four grandchildren: Melissa Sue Sousa, Ashley, Paul and Christopher Angione. Five sisters: Mrs. Edward (Donna) Swick, Mrs. Herbert (Clara) Wartman, Mrs. Jim (Dee) Wisenbarger, Karen Angione and Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Duhon. Three brothers: Joseph, Michael and David Angione. Funeral service will be Friday 11:00 A.M. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Herbert S. Garnes, III officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
