IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Lamar
Adcock
August 7, 1936 – October 25, 2024
Robert Lamar Adcock, age 88, following a brief illness, went home to meet his maker and reunite with the love of his life Lois, on October 25, 2024. Lamar was born on August 7, 1936, in Gholson, Mississippi to the late Robert Weldon and Corrine Adcock.
Lamar worked for Teledyne Monarch before retiring after 30 years to join his wife in owning and operating Lakeview Golf Course in Hartville, previously built and operated by Lois' father.
Well known to the community, Lois and Lamar provided 44 years of bringing people together, friendships, camaraderie and growing the game of golf seven days a week until they retired in 2016. Lamar was a true outdoors man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and manicuring his golf course for the players. While Lamar had a love for the game of golf and enjoyed people in general, there is nothing that meant more to him than his family, especially his pride and joy, his grandchildren.
Lamar is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, and sister Wilsie Weaver. He is survived by his children Beth (Kevin) Hostetler and Tony (Diana) Adcock; grandkids Kyle Mata-Hostetler, Brianna (Matthew Hartman) and Alec Adcock; siblings Betty Clark, Lilly Keller, Be Bruner, and Joe (Sharon) Adcock.
Calling hours will be Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 4-6 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville. Memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 6 PM. Graveside burial of ashes will take place Friday, November 1 at 10 AM at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville.
