Rita Miller, age 82, of Canton, passed away on May 13, 2016. She was born in Canton on September 16, 1933 to Dr. Albert and Ida (Cherkinsky) Lichtblau. She graduated from Lehman High School in 1951 and University of Michigan in 1955 with a degree in medical technology.

She was offered a job in Arizona after graduation but remained in Canton to work in her father's medical practice. She met her future husband Larry and they married on June 15, 1958. For the next several years, she stayed at home to raise her three children. In 1980, she started taking classes in accounting and computer science at Stark Tech. In 1985, she became a part-time teacher at Stark Tech and retired in 2000. She was always very involved in Shaaray Torah Synagogue and held various leadership positions.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Miller; children Dr. Martin J. (Dr. Bonnie) Miller of Indianapolis, IN, Elisabeth (Spencer) Lynch of Charleston, SC, Mindy (James) Weinberg of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Allison and Elliott Miller, Gabrielle and Sean Lynch, Jake and Reese Weinberg; sister Judith (Edward) Narens of Farmington Hills, MI; brother Dr. Steven (Barbara) Lichtblau of Upper Arlington, OH.

Funeral services are Monday 11 AM at Shaaray Torah Synagogue with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Final resting place is Canton Hebrew Cemetery. Donations may be made in Rita's Memory to Shaaray Torah Synagogue, 432-30th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709.
