Rita Hisrich Age 80, passed away March 30, 2016 after a courageous battle with myelodyplastic syndrome. Rita was the youngest daughter born to Ethel and Wilford Bose on May 31, 1935 in Beach City, Ohio. She graduated from Strasburg High School in 1953 and Akron City Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. Rita married the love of her life, Paul D. Hisrich, Jr. DDS on June 23,1957, after which they spent 2 years in Astoria, Oregon while Paul served in the Navy and made life-long friends there. They moved to Canton in 1959 where Rita devoted herself to raising their two children, Kelly and Guy. During this time, Rita volunteered at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Timken Mercy Service League, and the Well-Baby Clinic. She was also a gifted artist in painting and knitting and enjoyed traveling. Rita returned to school at Malone College where she earned a degree in Psychology to complement her nursing training. She then worked at Timken Mercy Hospital as a psychiatric nurse. In 1999 following Paul's retirement from dentistry, they moved to The Villages, Florida to spend winters, where they were avid golfers. Rita remained a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Canton. Throughout life, Rita had many friends who were dear to her heart. She will forever be remembered for her laughter, kindness, and enjoyment of life. Rita is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Paul Hisrich, children Kelly Wolfe (husband Robert Brian) of Muncie, Indiana and Guy Hisrich (wife Amy) of Canton, Ohio, who will always hold her close in memory. Grandchildren include Molly, Andrew, and Katherine Wolfe of Muncie, Indiana and Brooke Hisrich of Clemson, South Carolina and Drake Hisrich of Canton, Ohio. Also surviving are her two beloved sisters, Marla Blackburn of Phoenix, Arizona and Jane Blackburn of Birmingham, Alabama, along with five nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday in Trinity United Church of Christ with Rev. Heather Haginduff officiating. Interment will be in Ragersville Cemetery Ragersville, OH. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W.
