IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rick Alan
Schlabach
June 13, 1956 – July 19, 2024
Surrounded by his family, Rick A. Schlabach, age 68, went home to Jesus on July 19, 2024, leaving a legacy of love and devotion. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rita Schlabach; daughters, Cara and Casandra Schlabach; grandchildren, Nathyn (Trinity) Haas, Ransom (Kaylee) Haas, David (Kayla) Haas, Zachary and Alaina Rados; great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh, Oakleigh, and Jayce Haas; father, Chris Schlabach; brothers, Cal (Chery) Schlabach and Darcy (Gina) Schlabach; sisters, Christina (Fred) Neidert and Tawnya (Paul) Wells; many nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dog, Tessa. Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Schlabach, and brother, Chris Schlabach.
Rick was a graduate of Lake High School, where he was a 2-time state champion in the shot put (for which he still holds the school record) and was inducted into the Lake High School Hall of Fame because of his athletic achievements. Rick also served his country with honor as a member of the United States Air Force, and his commitment to duty and country was evident in every aspect of his life, both during and after his military service. A loving husband, Rick cherished Rita and stood by her side through all of life's challenges and joys. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter. Rick was a proud father of two daughters who were the lights of his life. He supported and guided them, always there to celebrate their successes and comfort them in times of need. As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Rick was a wonderful provider, role model, and master of dad jokes. Rick found joy in the company of his five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren: he was their biggest fan, attending their events and sharing in their dreams. His love for them was boundless, and his stories and wisdom will be remembered for generations. Rick Schlabach is deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024, at 11 AM at New Life Christian Fellowship in Hartville, Ohio, where friends and family can gather to celebrate Rick's life and share memories of the remarkable man he was.
Rest in peace, Rick. Your love and spirit will forever be with us.
