Richard Lee Weisel, age 74, of Plain Township went home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 10, 2012 while in Bonita Springs, Florida. He was born on October 3, 1937 in Middlebranch, Ohio to the late Lester and Mary (Green) Weisel. Dick graduated from Middlebranch High School in 1955 and was a member of the United States Marine Corp Reserve Unit. He was employed at Republic Steel Berger Division and Monarch Rubber Co. He then owned and operated Atomic Sewer and Septic for 34 years before retiring in 2003. He was a life time member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church. Dick was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Janet (Sweitzer) of Marlboro who passed away in 2002. Dick's passions were bowling, softball, square dancing, fishing, playing cards and making others laugh with his stories and jokes. He is survived by his 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Tracy and Lynn Weisel of Canton, Guy and Sandi Weisel of Plain Township; daughter Kim Weisel of Canal Fulton; seven grandchildren Nathan (Molly), Rachel Weisel, Lindsy, Michael and Kailey Weisel, Ryan and Hannah Brotherton; 2 brothers Roland "Bud" (Sue) Weisel, Tim Weisel; sister Patti (George) McClellan; 2 brothers-in-law Jay (Joanne) Sweitzer and Larry (Marcia) Sweitzer; his best friend of 9 years Shirley Law of North Canton; and many relatives and friends . Receiving of family and friends will be Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at St Jacob's Lutheran Church 1460 State St. NE, North Canton, OH, 44721, and one hour prior to services Saturday 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be Saturday 11 AM in the church with Rev. Dr. Leah Schafer officiating. Final resting place is St. Jacob's Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jacob's Lutheran Church.
