Richard R. "Mick" Wilson, age 81, of North Canton died Tuesday afternoon in Aultman Hospital. Born in Canton to the late Ray & Martha (Loveless) Wilson he was a life resident. Mick was a 1949 graduate of McKinley High School and was a member of the 1949 Swim Team State Champs, he attended Bowling Green and Ohio University. An Army Veteran of the Korean War he was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Canton Elk's Lodge, North Canton Eagles, McKinley Booster Club, member and 2007 inductee to the Greater Canton Aquatics Assoc., and was also an inductee to the Stark County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame. Mick was retired from Cross Truck Equipment Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Charles E. Wilson and a step son John E. Roderick. Survivors include his wife: Elizabeth "Libby" Wilson. 3 Sons: Richard (Jill) Wilson of Walnut Creek, CA, EdScott (Areli) and Glenn (Rosa) Wilson all of Mexico City, MX. Three step sons: Morgan (Rose) Roderick of Milwaukee, WI, Mark Roderick of Akron, and Scott (Kelly) Roderick of Ft. Knox, KY. Seven grandchildren: Sam, Zachary, Patrick, Pablo, Mick, Megan , and Jenna. A brother Donald Wilson of Louisville also survives. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday in Christ Presbyterian Church with Rev. David deVries officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11:30 to 12:45 P.M. in the Church.
