Richard D. Ledgerwood, age 81, of Akron passed away December 31, 2023, at Altercare of Hartville. He was born on October 4, 1942, to Raymond and Elberta (Maryfield) Ledgerwood and is a graduate of Suffield High School. Following high school, Richard trained to become an electrician where he ran his own business in the Akron area. He loved to be on the golf course and was known as being a social butterfly and for his athleticism.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Naomi, Bonnie, and David. He is survived by his brother Olin (Helen) Ledgerwood; nieces and nephews Bruce Ledgerwood, Marvin (Polly) Ledgerwood, Jerry (Tammy) Ledgerwood, Philip (Evie) Ledgerwood, Linda (Larry) Chambliss, David (Kitty) Lare, Mark (Karri) Lare, Jill (Jim) Brownlee; stepson Kenneth Campbell.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 5-6 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville at 504 West Maple Street. Memorial services will be at 6 PM with Pastor Matt Zook officiating.
