Obituary

Richard Joseph Franick

On August 24, 2022 Rick peacefully journeyed from our arms into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Rick was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sept.17, 1951.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Ethel Franick, his daughter Tamara Mallett, sister, Barbara Svetic and brothers Jack and Tom Franick.

Rick is survived by his loving wife and best friend Kathleen Franick who will dearly miss him. Rick and Kathleen had just celebrated 50 years together. Son Nicolas Franick, daughter Rebekah McConnell and 10 grandchildren; RJ and Parker Franick, Jesse, Ethan, Griffin and Cade Dieckhoner, Sawyer Mallett, Scout McConnell and Sean and Eva Franick who endearingly called him "Pops" or "Papa", Sisters Joan Scanlon and Susie Kemeny of Milwaukee and many nieces and nephews.

Rick fought a very long battle of serious health problems and many restrictions with unmatched bravery for his family who were first and foremost in his heart and mind. As a young man he made a clear and strong stand of his faith in God which guided and directed a 50 year marriage and endured many trials and tragedies. Rick enjoyed bike riding, telling jokes, the outdoors, hiking on trails with family, dogs and the North woods of Wisconsin. He adored his grandchildren and loved to make them laugh. Rick will be remembered for his unique gift of humor, his genuine ability to make you feel comfortable and loved in his presence. He instinctively knew when to make a joke and change the atmosphere to laughter and we would wait for it when with him. His warm heart, tenacity, courage, jokes and long suffering will be a lasting example to his family and all that knew him. "Well done thy good and faithful servant...enter thou then into the joy of thy Lord." You are loved and will be missed tremendously.
