Dr. Richard C. Drukenbrod, age 82, died Saturday morning in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born Feb. 22, 1932 in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Drukenbrod graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. He was All City in football. He was selected as a representative of Lincoln High School and as a representative of American Youth Foundation Leadership Camp. He attended Mt. Union College and graduated cum laude from the College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University. He is a life member of Ohio State University Alumni Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Clark Drukenbrod. He survived by his loving and faithful wife of 60 years, Barbara J. (Haines) and three sons, Mark Richard (Debbie), Todd Alan (Dayna) and Jon Eric. He also had eight grandchildren, four boys and four girls. Dr. Drukenbrod was commissioned as Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corp. Due to financial difficulties, resigned his commission and began practice in July 1957. He was active in community and professional affairs. He volunteered sixteenyears as teacher and coach in Jackson Youth Football and Little League baseball. Dr. Drukenbrod was a 32nd degree Mason and was elected to Jackson Board of Education. He also served as a member and president during the design and construction of the new Jackson High School in 1972. He was an avid fisherman and snowmobiler. Dr. Drukenbrod held a captain charter license for the Great lakes from the US Coast Guard. He owned and operated his own Bambuie Fishing Charter fishing business on Lake Erie. He received snowmobile awards including "Man of the Year" from the local Flying Tigers Club for his many guided and unguided trips to Northen Michigan, Canada and Pennsylvania. He was a former member of Lowell Reform Church and Church of the Lakes. In accordance with Dr. Drukenbrod's wishes a private interment will be at North Canton Cemetery.
