Richard "Dick" William Sachwitz, age 77, of North Canton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on December 1st. He was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of Lina (Schmeckebier) Sachwitz & Wilhem Sachwitz. This gentle giant embraced travel with his wife and enjoyed reading, golfing and his grandkids. He loved a friendly game of poker or card games with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Sachwitz of 53 years and his older brother, Walt Sachwitz (wife Mandy). He has three children, Richard Sachwitz (wife Jennifer), Erik Sachwitz (wife Laura) and Kirsten Apple and eight grandchildren. Richard & Jennifer Sachwitz of Kalamazoo, Michigan - Allison (16), Will (13) & Tommy (11);Erik & Laura Sachwitz of Falls Church Virginia - Paige (19), Ben (13) & A.J. (11); Kirsten Apple & Walt Lamore of Falls Church Virginia - Lizzy (11) & Zack (9). A Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17th in Faith United Methodist Church. Friends may call 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church on Saturday. Inurnment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church Memorial Fund 300 9th St. N.W. or the North Canton Library 185 North Main St. both of North Canton, OH 44720 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
