Rena Stein, age 89, of Vero Beach, Florida and previously Canton, Ohio passed away on May 18, 2022. She was born in Canton to Joseph and Mildred (Galpert) Freifield and graduated from Lehman High School and The Ohio State University. Rena spent time in various roles as a social worker within the Canton and Stark County areas. She had a knack for volunteer work and was active within the Shaaray Torah Synagogue community, serving as the first female president of the congregation. Rena enjoyed tending to her flowers in her garden, reading, as well as discussing politics at length.

Rena is survived by her children Yosef (Miriam) Stein of Brooklyn, NY and Barbara (Dr. Alan) Rosenbaum of Vero Beach, FL, grandchildren Menachem, Matthew, and David.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 22 in the Arnold Funeral Home at 1517 Market Ave N at 10:30 AM with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Final resting place is Canton Hebrew Cemetery.
