Raymond Arthur Neiger, age 91, of Canton, passed away on March 25, 2009 at Hanover House. He was born in Ragersville, OH on June 30, 1917 to the late Harry and Serina (Miller) Neiger. During WW II, he served in the Navy stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii after the bombing and in Shoemaker, CA. He was a brakeman and conductor on the railroad at Republic Steel and after retiring he worked at Camelot Music in the Warehouse. Raymond was a man of his word, loved his God, Bible, Hymns, Friends, and God's Perfect Way. He was very special and an encouragement and help to everyone. Preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Betty in June 2008; son Jimmy; brothers Ralph, John, Glen and Charles Neiger. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Rose Neiger of Massillon; daughter and son-in-law Margie and Jerry Webb of Canton South; sisters Helen (Oscar) Hanni of MO, Ruth Gowins of Gnadenhutten, Betty Welshenbaugh of New Philadelphia, Esther Gowins of Wooster and Doris Harper (Jerry) of FL; grandchildren Carmen Street, Teresa Moore and Mike Neiger, Dave Webb and Sis Webb; 9 great-grandchildren; other special relatives and friends who loved Raymond very much. Calling hours are Saturday 5-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home and before services Sunday 2-3:30 PM. Funeral services are Sunday 3:30 PM in the funeral home with Carlton Schooley, Scott Hanks and Mike Price officiating. Burial will be Monday 1 PM in the South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton.
