Polly A. Linger, 84, of N. Canton, OH, walked through the "eastern gates" into the arms of her Savior on April 19, 2015, at the Aultman Women's Board Compassionate Care Center, after an extended illness. Born March 5, 1931, in Diana, WV, she was preceded in death by her parents Hansford and Mabel (Tanner) Cutlip of Webster Springs, WV, her husband of 36 years, Samuel M. Linger of East Liverpool, and four of her twelve siblings. Along with her seven remaining siblings, Polly is survived by daughter Penelope (Don) Hare of Canton, and son Joseph (Lori) Linger of Cheshire, CT; five grandchildren: Kurtiss (Donora) Hare of Cuyahoga Falls, Kristin (Micah) Hasty and Kelsey (Zebulon) Lang of Canton, Anastasia Linger of Oberlin, and Samuel Linger of Cheshire, CT. Her three great granddaughters: Rylee Kate Hasty, Cora Ann Lang, and Rayna Noel Hasty, all of Canton, brought much joy to her heart. "Granny" taught us all the value of hard work, taking pride in yourself and your work, and always striving to do the right thing. Her inner strength, cultivated by her mother, to overcome adversity, will inspire our family for years to come. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 10-11:00 am with services following at 11 a.m. at Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home (4817 Cleveland Ave., Canton, OH), Rev. Max McCullough officiating. Interment will follow at the Columbiana County Memorial Park in East Liverpool, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
