Paul Alan Sommers, age 57, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday April 23, 2011. He was born in Canton, Ohio on June 12, 1953 to the late Ervin and Ada (Yoder) Sommers. Always a Hartville resident, Paul for the past 18 years worked for the Village of Hartville overseeing the shelters in the park. He is survived by his siblings Stephen (Debbie) Sommers, Ann Sommers, Nancee (Art) Moss, Miriam (Ken) Weirich and Jon Sommers; nieces and nephews Tiffany Sommers, Lindsey (Jason) Heckaman, Landon Weaver, Jennifer (Nelson) Bontrager, Jeremy Weirich, Julie (Jake) Stutzman and Jeffrey Weirich; great niece and nephew Haylee and Carter Bontrager; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours are Tuesday 5-8 PM at Hartville Mennonite Church and an hour prior to services Wednesday 10-11 AM. Funeral services are 11 AM at the church. Burial is in the church cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Pastors Dan Hooley and Ross Miller for their faithfulness in visiting and praying with Paul, to the staff at Green Meadows for their wonderful care, a very special thanks to the wonderful nurses in Aultman's Palliative Care Unit and a very, very special thanks to Nate Miller for the kindness and friendship he showed to Paul.
