Paul W. Fike, age 90, of Canton died Sunday morning in the Canton Regency. Born in Meyersdale, PA he graduated from Meyersdale High School in 1936 and worked on the Laurel Tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, before moving to Canton in 1939. A retired employee of the Timken Company, Paul was a Navy Veteran of WW II serving in the S. Pacific as a gunner on an LST. He was a member of Lowell United Church of Christ, Canton Lodge # 60 F & AM, Tadmor Shrine, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, was very active with the Steward's and the Shriner's Crippled Children's Transportation Unit. In addition to his parents Jonas W. and Olive (Poorbaugh) Fike he was preceded in death by his wife Mae "Dusty" Fike in 1991. Survivors include his sister: Mrs. John (Lorene) F. Butler of Ft. Myers, FL. Nieces: Mrs. Allen (KaRene) Bodenhagen of Newnan, GA, and Jacqueline Butler of Ft. Myers, FL. Numerous other nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be Thursday 11:00 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. with Rev. Pearl D. Sentelik officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 - 7 P.M. Masonic service will be Wednesday 5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Canton-Massillon Shrine Transportation Unit c/o Dean Border 266 Bender St., NE Navarre, OH 44662 or Aultman Hospice 2821 Woodlawn Ave., N.W. Canton, OH 44708. .
