Paul E. "Red" Cocklin, age 84, of Canton died Friday afternoon after a brief illness. A life resident of Canton Mr. Cocklin was retired from Diebold after 37 years of service. An Army Veteran of WW II he was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Mr. Cocklin was a member of Westbrook Park United Methodist Church and the Christian Volunteers Sunday School Class, Cluster Island Association. Paul very much enjoyed bowling, fishing and auto racing. He also served for 21 years with the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department. Preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Jessie (Marchand) Cocklin, survivors include a sister: Betty Grovemiller of Canton. Three nephews: Larry (Kathy), Dan (Lynn) and Mark Grovemiller. Niece: Cathy (James) Leggett. Funeral service will be Wednesday 11:00 A.M. in Westbrook Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Reese officiating. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westbrook Park United Methodist Church 2521 12th St., N.W. Canton, OH 44708.
