Paula Bloom, age 96 of Canton, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, in the Chapel Hill Home in Canal Fulton, Ohio. She was born on March 27, 1930, in Philadelphia to Nathaniel and Selma (Block) Salsbury.
Paula was an active member of Temple Israel where she was also a member of the Temple Sisterhood and Hadassah, and member of the Canton Jewish Community Center. In 1971 she served as Chairperson for the National Jewish Welfare Board National Basketball Tournament held at the Jewish Center.
Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 2009, a son Marc in 2016 and his wife Candy in 2025. Survivors include a son, Stephen Bloom (wife, Linda deceased 2025); 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a former daughter-in-law, Denise DeJane.
A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2026, 11:00 a.m. in North Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi John Spitzer and Rabbi David Komorofsky officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Temple Israel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Temple Israel.
