Obituary

Patsy Deloris Ackerman, age 71, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2011 following an extended illness. Patsy was born in Virginia on June 19, 1940 and graduated from Canton South High School in 1957. She retired from Finest Foods (Tops) After 35 years of service. Patsy was an avid doll collector. She devoted her time to her family and always made everyone of them her main concern and priority. She was blessed by her family and friends through their prayers and support and the private staff that loved cared for her in her home. Patsy is now reunited with her beloved father, Fred Mayberry. She is survived by her loving husband Bill of 53 years, 4 loving children; Scott and Greg Ackerman, Misty Ackerman Elsass and Christine Lombardi 6 grandchildren; Justin, Matthew and Nicole Ackerman, April Elsass Mullett and Kirsten and Anthony Lomardi, great-grandson; Silus Ackerman, her mother, Bonnie Alvarez, Greg Ackerman's children and grandchildren in marriage, Matthew, Renee, Andrew, Diana, Melea, Joe, Bill, Matt, Christopher, Mya, Nicholas, Emmalea, Lucas, Andrew and Ellie also survive. Mom, you will always be dearly loved and will be deeply missed and never forgotten. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice for their exceptional care and support and to Rico from 1310 AM for the nice tribute and kind things he had to say about Pat and her family. A memorial service will be held Friday 6 p.m. at La Pizzaria. Contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr. #3, Uniontown, Ohio 44685. A Note to my Love: A woman, who never even got a traffic ticket of any kind, was chosen to sit on a grand jury. A woman who never smoked a cigarette in her life or drank any alcohol. A woman who would say, "People don't stay together because they won't forget, they stay because they forgive." Many many fights in my life, I did everything I possibly could to save her, this fight I lost. She meant more to me than my life did. She always put the other person first. The summer sun came up on our love long ago. Now the sun has set forever, how in the hell can one go on after losing someone so perfect, the most empty, hopeless feeling I ever had in my life. Thank you, my sweetheart for taking care of me all of my life. I will walk alone the rest of the way. Your Loving Husband, Bill
