Patricia Lab
An amazing woman peacefully left this earth March 5, 2016. Patricia Lab, 59, lived in Canton, Ohio all of her life and touched many, many lives through her work as a counselor and friend. She began her career by co founding a support organization for parents who lost babies due to stillbirth, miscarriage, or neonatal death. She worked as a clinical counselor in several schools and private agencies, as well as a trauma and loss specialist for Stark County. Patty enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1974, The Ohio State University in 1978 with a bachelors of science in elementary education, and Walsh University in 1998 with a masters of arts in counseling and human development.
Patty is preceded in death by her father, Manuel Greenbaum, and daughter, Katy Marie. She is survived by her soulmate and husband of 36 years, Larry, daughter Katie (Charles) Forsythe, son Brandon; grandchildren Axton and Dax Forsythe; mother Norma Greenbaum; sisters Joanne (Edgar) Riberdy and Sharon (Gene) Dougherty and brother David (Renee) Greenbaum and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 7th at Temple Israel, 432 30th St. NW, Canton, Ohio, at 2:30 pm with Rabbis John Spitzer and Jon Adland officiating. Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery.
It would mean a great deal to Patty and her family if memorial contributions could be held until a non profit organization, Patty Lab's Angel Fund, is established to benefit children in need, as this was her lifelong mission. Additional information will be available through family and friends, or through facebook, once the organization is established.
