Patricia “Gabby” Darkow, 80, of Uniontown, Ohio, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by the love of her family. Born and raised in Waco, Texas. Known to everyone simply as Gabby, a nickname given to her by her granddaughter that became a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know her.
Gabby dedicated her life to her family, embracing her role as a homemaker with pride and devotion. She poured her heart into raising her two children, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth. As the years went on, the same love extended to her grandchildren, Morgan and Logan and great granddaughters, Kynzleigh and Carter, who brought her endless joy. She adored being their Gabby.
If you knew Gabby, you knew her style. She was, without question, a professional shopper – a title she wore as proudly as any of her outfits. Every purse she owned had shoes to match, down to the last detail, and she carried herself with the kind of effortless elegance that couldn’t be taught. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis and racquetball. She also enjoyed traveling back and forth to Texas regularly visiting family and friends. Gabby was an active member of East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren.
But above all else, Gabby’s greatest joy was simply being with her family. Whether it was quiet moments at home or gatherings full of laughter, she cherished every second spent by the side of her beloved husband and the family she built with him. Her love for them was constant, and it was returned in full.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristin (David) Kamerer, her daughter in law, LeighAnn Corbett, her grandchildren Morgan and Logan LaTampa, and her great granddaughters, Kynzleigh and Carter. She is reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Norman, and son, Jeffrey D. Jones, welcomed home after being apart too long.
Gabby will be remembered as a woman of great style, for her sassy/spunky personality, and her southern charm. She was a true original that will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
