Owen Stoll, former Hartville mayor and WWII Navy veteran, passed away peacefully at home December 14, 2024, at the age of 98. Owen was preceded in death by Leona, his wife of 76 years; his daughter, Bonnie; and his son, Galen. Born to Lizzie and Gideon Stoll on April 16, 1926, Owen was a member of the Chapel in Marlboro and a lifelong resident of Hartville. Owen believed happiness is found in service to others. He cared deeply about Hartville and was a member of Hartville Village Council for 17 years before serving as mayor for 8 years, Owen received several recognitions, both for his time in local government and for the time he served in the Navy during WWII. Owen will be greatly missed by his survivors: son, Owen Douglas; daughter-in-law, June; grandchildren, Jeremy (Erin) Stoll; Rachel (Sean) Fuller; Jeff (Karla) Stoll; Brian Stoll; Christ (Jason) Magda; great-granddaughter, Lily Stoll; and nephew, Larry (Bonnie) Miller. The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Bonnie for her 14 years as a caretaker and to Anna, for caring for Owen during this final day Owen's service will be Friday, December 20, at 1:00 PM, at Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville, OH. Calling hours will be held two hours prior to the service, from 11:00-1:00 PM, with Pastor Joel Cochran officiating. Owen will be laid to rest in Mt Peace Cemetery.
