Ora Mae Sherrell, age 77, of Canton, OH and formerly Ardmore, TN, transitioned from Earth to a Heavenly home of Eternal rest where there is no more pain and suffering, on Friday September 23, 2016. Born September 7, 1939 in Ardmore, TN to the late Mr. John Stevenson and Ora (Massey) Stevenson-Crutcher. She attended Westend High School in Lincoln County Tennessee. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Canton. Ora Mae always gave a helping hand to any and all people. She was an entrepreneur, Eastern Star, Vice president of the Friendly Few Club, Avid gardener, swimming instructor, played checkers and planed trips to Massey/ Stevenson Family Reunions, senior trips to Wheeling Down and loved scratch off tickets.

Ora is the mother of 5 children. Her first marriage to the late Howell Douglas Swinea brought forth 2 children: the late Juanita Vance, surviving husband Larry in Tennessee as well Brenda Swinea-Patterson in Canton, her late husband Emanuel Jr. Her second marriage to the late Homer N. Sherrell Sr. brought forth 3 children: Leisha (Johnnie) Brack, Tracy (Donavan) Davidson, Homer Jr. (Christine) Sherrell, and Homer Sr.'s daughter Rosemary Young all of Canton; 12 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; siblings John Robert Stevenson of Clarksville, TN, Nora Short of Canton, Calvin (Cathy) Stevenson of Dellrose, TN and James Allen Stevenson of Norfolk, VA. Preceded in death by siblings Craig Stevenson and Alease Stevenson. Also surviving God children: Dennis, Melvin, Marchell Griffin and Wanda Tull;

Many nieces and nephews including special nephew Billy Howell of Canton.
