Norman W. Knapp, age 84, of Canton, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 31, 2011 in Hanover House. Born June 21, 1926 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Edward and Eleanor (Leithe) Knapp, Norman graduated from Wheeling High School in 1944. He was a Payroll Accounting Supervisor for Ohio Power Company for 41 years and retired in 1990. He was a US Army Air Force Veteran of WWII and also a member of the Ohio Power Veteran Retirees Club. Member of First Christian Church. Preceded in death by his wife Grace in 2003 and by two brothers. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Sheree and Charles Battershell of Palmdale, CA, daughter Cynthia Knapp of the home, son and daughter-in-law George and Andrea Knapp of Darlington, SC, seven grandchildren, a great-grandson and brother Alvin Knapp of Martins Ferry, Ohio. Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Jeff Bullock and Dick Hickman officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
