Norman George, age 97, of North Canton, passed away Wednesday afternoon. Born in Canton to the late Edwin and Alta (Miller) George, he was a life resident. Norman was an Army Technical Sergeant in WWII, retired interior designer and member and past Exalted Ruler of the former Canton Elks Lodge #68. He was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church, United Commercial Travelers, and the Civil War Round Table. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Larry George. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Betty Fisher George; daughter, Patricia (Jim) Wayne; grandchildren, Christi (Theron) Hodge, Michael (Karen) Wayne and Laura (Kevin) Boswell; great-grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Hodge and Molly and Jack Boswell. A private graveside service was held for the family in West Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to John Knox Presbyterian Church 5155 Eastlake St. NW, North Canton, OH 44720.
