Rini, Nick M. (Sonny) Nick M. (Sonny) Rini, age 85, was born March 7, 1924 at Dover, Ohio to Anthony and Josephine Rini, and passed from this life to his eternal home Tuesday December 1, 2009. He leaves his wife of 35 years Alice; sister Katherine Gopp; sisters-in-law Fran Swartzentruber, Lura Bowin, Catherine Gingerich; and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Martin T. (Lucille) Rini and sisters Mary (George) and Laura (Joe). Nick was a R.R. Engineer most of his life for Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was an avid gardener, beekeeper, nature lover, scuba diver, archeologist, and had many other interests. Many will remember his stories and recitation of "The Cremation of Sam McGee." A memorial service will be held Sunday December 6 at 3:00 PM with visiting hours from 1-3:00 PM, all at Beech Mennonite Church, 10037 Easton St. NE (Corner of Easton & Paris Ave.) In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee c/o Beech Mennonite Church or a charity of your choice.
