Newton Joseph Knoll, age 86, formerly of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 30, 2011. He was born April 9, 1924 in Lowellville, Ohio to Newton Andrew and Betty Elizabeth (Cox) Knoll. Newton served in the US Navy as a Navy Radar Man, 2nd Class, on the USS Suamico, during WW II. He served as an Environmental Specialist for the Ohio Edison Company and was a member of the Marlboro Christian Church where he served as a deacon. Preceded in death by his wife Joan Frances Knoll on January 31, 2010 and they were married for 53 years; and 3 sisters Janet Wilkins, Bernice Rogers and Laurabelle Harris. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Jennifer Knoll of Alliance; daughter Brenda Knoll of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren Tiffani, Kayla, Kyle, Tanner, Addyson and Andrew; great-grandchildren Arianna Marie and Jabari; sister-in-law Mariko Grow of Washington; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday 11 AM at the Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville with Pastor Ed Harnish officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service 10-11 AM.
