Nelson Powell Milligan, age 78, of North Canton formerly of Hartville, passed away on Friday September 2, 2016. He was born on January 26, 1938 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Walter and Bertha (Powell) Milligan and graduated from Centerburg High School and Bowling Green State University. He worked for 39 years at Goodyear International as a foreign exchange manager and lived in Australia and Brazil. He was a member of the Torch Club of Akron and was active in the civic affairs of the Village of Hartville for many years. Nelson was a good and faithful member of Community Christian Church where he served on several committees. He and Mary Lou were inveterate travelers enjoying all their trips domestic and foreign. His horse "Cricket" provided many hours of happiness during retirement. Nelson's greatest love and joy came from his family. His Christian Faith provided a foundation for his whole life.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou. They would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on September 7th. Also survived by children Anna (John) Waller, Andrew (Deyan) Milligan, William (Sharon) Milligan, Kerry Milligan (Michael Green); grandchildren Kyle (Elizabeth), Todd and Sarah Waller, Dylan Milligan, Jacob, Elisabeth, Kathryn, Erin and John Milligan; great-grandchildren Josiah, Kate Lily and Damien; sister Linda (Jon) Jewell; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Wednesday 5-7 PM at Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville. A Memorial Service will be Thursday 11 AM at Community Christian Church, North Canton with Rev. Sarah Taylor- Peck officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Christian Church or Salvation Army.
