Ned Bair Miner, age 89, of North Canton, passed away Sunday evening in Manor Care. Born in Akron, Ohio to the late Thomas and Faye (Bair) Miner, he was a life resident. Ned received his Master's Degree from Kent State University and retired from the Hoover Company as an engineer after 42 years. An Army Veteran of WW II he served in both European and Pacific Theaters. Ned's memberships include Trinity United Church of Christ, Past Master, Secretary and Treasurer of William H. Hoover Lodge # 770 F & AM, AASR Valley of Canton, O.E.S., Penn Ohio Model A Club, Plain Township Historical Society and was a volunteer at Aultman Hospital for 25 years, known as the "Elevator Man". In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Lois (O.D.) Carter and great-grandson; TJ Tornero. Ned is survived by his wife of 65 years; Oreta of the residence, 2 sons, Alan (Robbin) Miner of Hartville and David (Deborah) Miner of Canton, daughter, Marilyn (Larry) Black of Ashland, brother, Ray (Priscilla) Miner of MN, Grandchildren; Kim Miner, Leanne (Paul) Frye, Brian (Jennifer) Miner, Aaron Miner, Rebekah (Erik) Morrison, Timothy & Robert Black, great grandchildren; Desiree (Kyle) Johnson, Jerrica (Roberto) Bernal, Nicholas Miner, William Bair Miner, Kaylee & Kloe Morrison. Great-great grandchildren; Alexandria Bernal, Madgalena Bernal and Kadence Johnson also survive. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Henry Warstler Cemetery.
