Neal P. Surbey, age 81, of North Canton, Ohio, transitioned to his eternal home on August 11, 2016. Neal owned Valley View Lawn and Garden for 36 years. He built a successful business at that corner of Portage and Pittsburg. He made many friends and countless business deals. That is what he did. But that is not who he was. Neal was a man of rock solid faith who placed God first in his life. Neal was that 14 year old boy who had a crush on 13 year old Bonnie Speicher, who in 1958 would become his partner in life. Neal was the proud father of Diane. He was her hero and her role model, her never-wavering source of strength, wisdom and unconditional love. Neal was the man who gained a devoted son-in-law when Diane married Bill Anderson in 1998. Neal was the man who started the words of wisdom he freely offered with, "You didn't ask, but here it goes." He was so clear in his opinions of how to live life that he felt called to share that wisdom with others - family, friends and strangers alike. The only thing common about Neal was his common sense. Neal led a life well lived. Our family would take great joy in hearing stories about Neal from friends and family. Bonnie, Bill and Diane will receive friends at 9:30am at The Chapel. A Celebration of Neal's Life and Legacy will begin at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon at the church.
