Naomi Smudak, age 84, of Uniontown, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Allay Senior Care Center of Meyers Lake. She was born on March 6, 1926 in Green Township to the late Samuel and Corda (Hoover) Lavy. Naomi was a member of the East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Lake High School and worked for the Hoover Company where she retired in 1985. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing and spending time with her family. Preceded in death by her husband Joseph Smudak on May 31, 1985 and by brothers John, Orion and Perry Lavy, and by sisters Mary Lavy, Frances Riemenschneider, Catherine Arnold and Ruth Henry. Naomi is survived by two brothers Danny Lavy and Willard Lavy both of North Canton; Several nieces and nephews including Mary Balizet and Karen Bourne. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Vern Hostetler officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services from 10-11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
