Nancy M. Rice, age 85, passed away Thursday in Westminster Thurber Community in Columbus, Ohio. Born in Canton May 22, 1926 to the late Ralph E. and Dora (Rogers) Schneider. Nancy was a 1944 graduate of Lincoln High School and a 1946 graduate of Capital University in Columbus. On August 30, 1958 Nancy married James Blaire Rice. She worked for WHBC Radio and Fehlman Public Relations, was a lifetime active member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Canton, having served on Church Council, past president of Women of the Church, various committees including office administrator. Other memberships included: Canton Women's Club, past president of Trirosis, Delta Chapter 539 Order of Eastern Star, Emerald Court #33 of Amaranth, former member of the Board of St. Luke Lutheran Community of North Canton and recently a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Nancy was very active and enjoyed doing needlepoint. In addition to her parents Nancy was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret (Eisenburger) Schneider. Nancy is survived by her husband of 53 years James, son and daughter-in-law; Jeffrey Alan and Jodi Marie Rice, grandchildren, Rachael Marie, Carter Alan and Parker Blaire Rice all of Hilliard, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends also survive. Nancy will be missed by her loving family and friends as she was a dynamic energetic person with a smile and greeting for everyone. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Timothy Muse officiating. Interment will be in Warstler Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. and one hour prior to the service in church on Wednesday.
