Nancy Romano McDonald passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, after an extended illness.

She was born February 3, 1940, in Canton, Ohio, but raised in Malvern, Ohio, to the late Philip Romano and Mae Romano Carnahan. She spent her life devoted to her family and will be remembered for her exceptional kindness, strength, and the love she shared with everyone around her.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Thomas McDonald, brother Jack Nigro, sister-in-law Maryann Nigro, and infant son Rodger Vandegrift.

She is survived by children, Dianna (Don) Sigmon, Nancy Kiko, and Philip (Victoria) Cessna; grandchildren Joanna (Brian) Williamson, Stephanie (Anthony) Antes, Natalie Sigmon, Anthony, Alex and Nick Brewster, and Jay and Olivia Cessna. She also has 5 great-grandsons, whom she adored. Brother Tom (Kathy) Romano, special niece Mariana (Todd Furney) Romano, great nieces Leah and Anna Furney and her loving friends Joan, Julie, and Linda.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many friends and caregivers who supported and loved Nancy, and the compassionate care she received from the Inn at Belden Village.

Friends and family may come to call on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 11 am to 12 pm at Arnold Funeral Home, 1517 Market Ave N, Canton. Burial will follow at 1:15 pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
