Morris Smuckler, age 96, of Canton, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 30, 2014, at the Sterling House of Canton. He was born on April 6, 1917 in Canton to the late Julius and Molly (Sedlovitz) Smuckler. Morris is a member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue. He graduated from McKinley High School and retired as a meat selector with Superior Brand Meats. During WW II he served as a sergeant in the US Army. Preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Survived by his wife of 68 years Rose Smuckler; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Shelley Smuckler of Creve Coeur, MO; grandchildren, Lori Smuckler, Julie Steiner and David Smuckler; great-grandchild Evan Steiner; a brother and a sister. Services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Canton with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Interment in Canton Hebrew Cemetery.
