Miriam "Mimi" S. Hall, age 90, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Bethany Nursing Home. She was born February 25, 1934 in Springfield, IL, to Ortheldo and Dorothy Smith. She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, where she received her degree in violin performance studies. As a violinist, Mimi performed in multiple symphony orchestras, including those in Akron, Canton, Wooster and Youngstown; she also performed as part of a Canton-based string quartet. Upon finishing her career as a violinist, Mimi embarked on a new career in social work. She earned a Masters degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University, then served as a social worker within the oncology department at Doctors Hospital in Massillon, Ohio.

She is survived by sons Steven (Beth) Hall of Coral Springs, Florida, and Brian (Deborah) Hall of Highland Park, Illinois; grandchildren Andrew, Joshua, Isabel, and Sara. Preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents and sister Patricia Johnson.

Per the family's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time. Burial to take place at a later date at Oakridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.
