Obituary

Mildred L. "Millie" Swartz, age 91, of North Canton, passed on Friday June 30, 2017. Born November 1, 1925 in Logan County, West Virginia, the daughter of John and Martha Bloss. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her Hartville High School Sweetheart William R. Swartz; daughter Ronelle Orth; and 4 brothers Earl (Nora), Stanley (Garnet), Farley (Mary), Rush (Mary) Johnson; 3 sisters Mary (Frank) Smith, Katherine Edgell, Ulia (Carl) Reynolds; and brother-in-law Ralph Epley.

Millie was a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II at the Hoover Company for the war effort. She and Bill were active with the Hartville Class Reunions, they spent many years Square Dancing with the Dancing Darts in North Canton, traveling around the country in their various RV's. Millie enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing and her family, friends and neighbors.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah (Ray) Haggerty of Massillon; grandchildren William (Julie) Haggerty of Massillon, Valerie (Al) Zavislak of Virginia Beach, Chris (Denise) Orth of Canal Fulton; several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sisters Lavonne Epley of Hartville, Deloris (Bill) Hovermale of Many, LA, Rose (Paul) Dazey of West Jefferson, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 10-11 AM Wednesday, July 5th, at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Services begin at 11 AM in the funeral home. Final resting place is Mount Peace Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
