Michael Donald Shahan, age 33, of Canton, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Canton to Donald Shahan and Verna Scalley, Michael was a graduate of Glen Oak High School. He enjoyed doing lawn care with his grandfather, Porter. Michael was a hard worker, kind hearted and loved being with people. He loved to tinker with things and enjoyed clubbing & dancing. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Porter Shahan; grandmother, Gail Hughes; and his aunt, Sharon Yocum. In addition to his parents Michael is survived by a daughter, Kylie Porco; and her mother, Ashley Porco; half brothers, Tommy and Jason Beard; stepbrothers, Donnie and Jason Layne; stepsister, Theresa Maupin; grandparents, Charles Hughes and Elise Shahan; stepmother, Betty Shahan; and a host of aunts and uncles. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Rev. Cara Stultz Costello officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
