Michael F. Danner, age 55 of Canton passed away Tuesday May 26, 2009. He was born in Akron on April 25, 1954 to the late Bob Danner and Mary Ann (Mearig) Lockhart. He received a bachelor of Fine Arts in acting and directing from Kent State University and a master of Fine Arts from Ohio University's Professional Actor Training Program. In 1980, Mike started his acting career at Kent State Stark and at the Player's Guild. His memberships include the Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Onstage he worked with the San Jose Reparatory Company, Cleveland Playhouse, Sacramento Theatre Company, Crossroads Theatre and Monomoy Theatre. He toured with the Cleveland Playhouse to Bratislava and Prague and with the Crossroads Theatre to the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. On the small screen, he appeared on All My Children, Remember WENN, and America's Most Wanted. On the large screen he appeared in Somewhere in the City and the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. He was also employed as a technical director. In February of 2009, he directed the Zoo Story at the Kathleen Howland Theatre in Canton. Mike liked to get together with his friends and play guitar and go boating. Survivors include his brother David Danner (fiancee Jean) of Canton, sister Katherine (Carey) Sloan of Bolivar, sister Mary (Robert) Lee of East Canton, nephew Andrew Postlethwait, nieces Betsy Lee and Brianna Danner. Following cremation, funeral services will be held Monday 7:00 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with The Rev. Dr. Carey E. Sloan III, AOJN officiating.
