Mervin K. Wagler, age 65 of Middlebranch, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday morning May 29, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center following complications after heart surgery. He was born January 28, 1943 in Hartville to the late Martin and Edna (Slabaugh) Wagler, taught at several church schools and married Viola Gingerich of Montgomery, IN on August 19, 1972. He was a self employed painter for 25 plus years and made many wonderful friends. Mervin was ordained to the ministry on March 7, 1993 at The Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church where he was a long time member. He had a great love for the church and for teaching and preaching The Word. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Viola; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Taeko Wagler of Hartville; two daughters Regina and Sharon Wagler of the home; the granddaughter he adored, Hanna Grace; six siblings Carolyn (Emanuel) Mullett , Marjorie (Jim) Bargerstock all of Hartville, Pauline Bender, Leon (Miriam) Wagler all of FL, Betty Wagler of HI, Norman Wagler of Marlboro; 16 nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by one nephew. Friends may call Sunday 1-3 and 6-9 PM in the Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church. Funeral services are Monday 10 AM in the church with Pastor Eugene Sommers officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
