Merilyn Elaine Young, age ninety-eight, of The Canton Christian Home, passed away Saturday morning, December 1, 2018, at Aultman Hospital. She was born September 29, 1920, in Tampa, Florida to William and Alvia (Stevenson) Moseley. Merilyn owned and operated Molly McIntyre Women's Clothing store in Canton that was established in 1976. She was a graduate of the University of Tampa in Florida. Merilyn was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church, formerly The First Methodist Church of Canton, and was a past member of the Canton Jr. Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William J. Young in l963, and her second husband, Robert Meder in 1971; son William Young III of Naples, Florida, and a sister, Erma Shuart, of Tampa, Florida. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Tracy Young of North Canton; grandchildren, Randy Young of Sunbury, Ohio and Melissa (Matt) Ankerman of North Canton; great granddaughter, Leighton Elaine Ankerman. Private family funeral services will be Tuesday at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton, with Chaplin Bill Moody officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of The Canton Christian Home for their loving and professional care during her eleven years of residency.
