Melvin T. White, age 58 of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday June 21, 2008 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Scotland, MD on March 1, 1950 to the late Richard Jr. and Lottie Louise (Barnes) White. He had recently retired from Stark County Board MRDD after 28 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and he loved working on and racing cars. He was a kindhearted man who constantly extended himself to others. Preceded in death by his only sister Rose Marie White and niece Marisha White; he is survived by wife Shirley, daughters Milicent White and Angela Sommerville both of MD, sons Brandon White and Michael Harley both of Canton; brothers Arnold (Donda) White of VA and Richard III (Joyce) White of Africa; grandchildren Lanaiya Sommerville, Logan Sheppard and Jasmine Mann; and a host of other relatives and friends.
